Groupon and Living Social
Discounts on Trips, Activities and Food

My 2 favorite sites are Groupon and Living Social.  Here you can find discounted destinations, fun things to do and of course great food.  I managed to get a $555 helicopter tour of the Las Vegas Strip for up to 3 (took my son for his 21st birthday) for $139, plus they had a discount that day so got $20 off making it $119 - and had logged in through ebates (another favorite site) and got 6% cash back!  Can't beat that deal and I would never known something that cool would be affordable to me! (BTW ebates is an awesome site if something isn't on the milage award site and you are shopping online.  Join ebates and get $ back on your purchases you were going to make anyway.  I'll add that link below too.)

Click the Ebates logo to join for Free plus you get a $10 bonus after spending just $25 at any store.  This is a great site to use with both Groupon and Living Social.  They are usually 6% cash back but often run special for 12% cash back!  This combined with a Living Social promotion got a $555 helicopter tour for 3 people for only $104.72 and got 119 airline miles for paying with airline credit card when I was done!
Local Savings Cards
Local Savings Cards

These are cards you can buy that give you savings on activities and/or dining in a particular city.  Usually only found in the bigger cities but I'll put links to some of the ones I know of.  Always google a city you are traveling to and check to see if they have any discount cards available.  San Diego has a good card that gives discounts on the zoo and Sea World, so always check out your options.

Since you do have to purchase these, make sure you look at what you get for what you have to pay.  Plus look to see if each person needs their own card.  I'll try to make notes on each one, but double check their websites to verify before you purchase one.

In Las Vegas I use the Vegas Bites card.  It gives you discounts on food and shows.  There were 4 fast food restraunts in my hotes (Luxor, but same ones in all MGM resorts) and all 4 had discounts on the Vegas Bites card.  It also has discounts at higher end restraunts, shows and activities.  Costs $34.95 and is good for 1 full year.
